should I order gift baskets from Gourmet Pantry vs. all
the other online shops?
Unlike most online gift basket stores,
the Gourmet Pantry is a large grocery store located in
the heart of Chicagos loop. All of the items used
in our baskets come from our wide store selection. As
a result, we have thousands of products to choose from
that are guaranteed fresh due to the heavy in-store traffic
that keeps items moving.
What are your store
hours of operation?
The Gourmet Pantry is open on Monday - Friday from 7:00
a.m. to 9:30 p.m. to take your call. We are also open
weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and
9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every Sunday. We are closed on
Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years
Day, and have shortened holiday hours on a few other
days throughout the year.
Who determines
the products and designs you offer?
Our staff of experienced professionals is on a constant
mission to find unique products and creates dozens of
themed designs each year for easy selection. Or you
can talk directly to a designer to create a personalized
gift basket just perfect for that special someone on
your
gift list. We would be happy to shop for special items
we dont carry in our store, for an additional
charge, or you can send us something to add to any basket.
This is especially popular with our corporate clients
that like to include items with their company logo.
What is your guarantee
policy?
We guarantee the timely arrival of gift selection
in perfect
condition. If for any reason you are not satisfied,
just return the item for replacement or refund.
Can items in the
themed basket be substituted?
We can make substitutions if you order 20 or more of
the same basket with a minimum purchase order of $2000.
In the rare instances when an item is out of stock due
to high sales of a particular basket, we reserve the
right to replace an item with one of equal or greater
value at no extra charge. Also, wine vintage dates may
vary due to availability from our distributors.
Do you offer custom
gift basket services?
Absolutely! You can either let us know the types of
items you would like to include (tea, jam crackers,
etc.) and let us choose the brands, or you can call
to discuss the specific brand names we carry in our
grocery store.

policy?

Do you ship everywhere?
Almost anywhere in the continental US, but youll
need to add $20 for deliveries to Hawaii and Alaska
and allow for two extra days in delivery time. UPS and
Fed Ex will not accept PO Boxes or foreign addresses
and all deliveries must include your recipients
phone number, sorry--no exceptions.
Will you send a
personalized message with my gift baskets?
Yes!! Look for the space on the order form to include
your personal sentiments. Each basket will include a
classic card, or you can mail us a personal note to
include.
Do you offer discounts?
We offer a 5% discount on orders totaling $2,000 or
more (excluding shipping and sales tax) and on all orders
placed with a valid coupon or special offer. Join our
e-mailing list to receive special promotions and holiday
reminders.
When is the last day I can place an
order for Christmas delivery?
All orders received by December 15,
2002 are guaranteed to arrive by December 24, 2002.
Small orders (less than 10 gift baskets) received by
December 21, 2002 will arrive by Christmas with an additional
shipping charge of $20. All orders in the Chicago loop
area may possibly be ordered and delivered up until
Christmas Eve, depending on staff availability and demand.
Why cant I add a bottle of wine
or liquor to every gift basket order?
Due to local ordinances, gift baskets
containing wine or other liquor may only be shipped
to the following states: CA, CO, IA, ID, IL, MN, MO,
NE, NM, OR, WI, HI, and WV. Adult signatures with valid
identification that they are over 21 years of age will
be required from our Fed Ex or UPS carrier on all shipments
containing alcohol.

Can you help with my wine selection?
We have an excellent wine cellar
with rare and popular wines from California, Europe,
Australia, Italy, Chile, Germany and more. Our wine
steward would be happy to assist you in choosing the
perfect reds or whites for your custom gift baskets.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards
and money orders, and we do offer invoicing on all pre-approved
credit accounts. For house accounts, there is a minimum
$500 opening order for gift baskets, or $100 opening
order for grocery and/or catering items, and terms are
net 30 days from the shipping date.
How long does it take to establish
credit with the Gourmet Panty?
We can ship immediately for clients
providing valid Credit Cards but house account approval
takes 7-10 business days. You can provide your own credit
sheet or download a Credit Form from our web site. Our
accounting department will be happy to answer additional
questions.
Do you collect sales tax?
Illinois State law requires us to
collect sales tax on gift baskets. There are additional
taxes on all wine baskets delivered within Chicago as
well as the state of California.
How long will the
gourmet food in my gift basket
stay fresh?
Shelf life is typically 6-12 months for dried goods
like crackers, cookies and chocolates, or 4-6 weeks
on cheese items. Please note that we
only use shelf-stable Edam and Gouda cheeses in our
baskets.
Custom orders with Gourmet Cheeses can be shipped packed
in Dry Ice
for an additional charge.

Whether its a small gathering of friends for
